In 2003, the Taste of Minnesota moved from the Capitol to Harriet Island.

Harriet Island

The renovated Harriet Island Regional Park creates stronger community connections and strengthens Harriet Island’s role as the community’s gathering place. It embraces more of the natural river valley and increases access to, and enjoyment of, the river. The spectacular 20-foot-wide riverwalk graces the river’s edge. The pedestrian gateway through the levee at Water Street reconnects the West Side neighborhood to the park and the river. The Ohage Great Lawn welcomes large civic celebrations hosted at the Target Stage. The Overlook and the Great Stairs showcase the Mississippi River and the city’s skyline. Community dedications to the spirit and families of Saint Paul are captured at the riverwalk, and pedestrian gateway through the Harriet Island Regional Park Community Campaign. Saint Paul's optimism, vitality and pride in its river heritage have returned.

The Harriet Island Regional Park Community Campaign has been completed.

A special Thank You to our many donors for your support in renovating this riverfront park.
