Tickets, Parking and What to Wear Frequently Asked Questions
Why is it called the Millard Fillmore Dinner? The dinner began in 1995 as a way to spur interest in the Grand Excursion 2004--a re-enactment of the 1854 Grand Excursion that was the the most spectacular media event in pre-Civil War history. Millard Fillmore was the 13th President of the United States at the time and the highest ranking dignitary on the trip. His name was chosen for the dinner as a unique way of tying the annual event to the original excursion and the re-enactment in 2004.
